UPDATE: Cook Hall gastropub to replace Market at W – Buckhead
Hotel to spend $282K remodeling space for new restaurant concept.
Market won’t sit dark for long at the Buckhead’s W Hotel.
Cook Hall, a new gastropub, will replace the restaurant at 3777 Peachtree Road, according to a press release.
What Now Atlanta first reported the restaurant at the chic Bukchead hotel would soon shutter after uncovering a building permit application filed with City of Atlanta last week to make renovations to the space.
Culinary Concepts Hospitality Group conceived the Cook Hall gastropub concept, which will serve small plates, charcuterie, tacos, flatbreads and sandwiches, under the direction of chef David Gross.
Market’s interior will be redesigned by local design firm Blackdog Studio. A key element to the renovations will be an 18-seat bar.
An estimated $282,694 will be spent to transform the 2,450-square-foot Market restaurant into Cook Hall, according to the permit application.

This is just an assumption, but I have to bet that this is the only W in the world with a restaurant attachment, that has a “pub” as it’s dining source.

Urbanist- This exact same concept exists in Dallas W Hotel. I think it replaced a Craft.
I am sure you can say something about what that means to atlanta (Poser? Not imaginative?) but dont really care–just thought this was interesting.

Yeah, I guess there are two W’s in the world then. The W in Dallas is located in what is kind of
The TX version of Atlantic Station (with the inclusion of a stadium too).

Haha, Victory Park! I personally think that Victory Park is very much like AS, but in my opinion nicer. Craft in Dallas seemed to fair better then the one here.
I stayed at W South Beach a few weeks ago and must say the casual hip dining concept like “The Dutch” there is what is really hot right now. You saw the trend in Manhattan like 8-10 years ago with the advent of Schillers, and Freemans being the go-to casual yet hip scenes. Now you have Places like The Standard Grill, The Dutch, and others who are capitalizing on that authentic vibe. having eaten at all of the above, I can’t say that the original nature of Freemans or Schillers, or Holeman and Fitch for that matter can be captured in an Atlanta W.
In any case I ate at the Market in Atlanta once. Much like the one in Paris it was mediocre when compared to the other options along within a few blocks.
In any case a gastropub will for sure be more a draw to the Atlanta crowd than Market.
