Tex-Mex restaurant to open Perimeter store.
UPDATE (Dec. 1, 2011): Chuy’s bringing Tex-Mex to Perimeter area December 6
Chuy’s, an Austin-based Tex-Mex restaurant, will open in Atlanta’s Perimeter area in November 2011, according to a press release Monday.
This will be Chuy’s first opening in Georgia since the restaurant was founded in 1982.
The restaurant will be located at 118 Perimeter Center West and owned and operated by John Mountford, according to the release. It will replace the now shuttered Fire of Brazil.
“I’m eager to introduce Chuy’s food and personality to Atlantans,” Mountford said. “Atlanta is a city known for its discernable taste, and I look forward to bringing locals a unique Tex-Mex dining experience unlike any they have seen before with quality ingredients at affordable prices.”
Chuy’s offers “made-from-scratch” Tex-Mex cuisine. Some signature items include Chicka-Chicka Boom-Boom Enchiladas, Stuffed Chile Rellenos and “Big As Yo’ Face” Burritos.

Chuy’s Atlanta will epitomize the saying, “if you’ve seen one Chuy’s, you’ve seen one Chuy’s” with eclectic décor that creates an inviting environment for all guests. The unique personality will be reflected in the legendary Elvis shrine, distinctive arrangements of funky art, metal palm trees, hubcap-covered ceilings, local Chuy’s T-shirts (even risqué ones from time to time) and unique tile work. The vibrant interior will lend to a lively ambiance enhanced by a family- and happy hour-friendly atmosphere complete with their Fully-Loaded Nacho Car, serving complimentary chips, salsa, queso, ground sirloin and more every Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.
